Lifeway Mobility Teams Up with Operation Ramp It Up and the Philadelphia Eagles to Provide Ramp for Veteran

Philadelphia, PA - Lifeway Mobility recently partnered with nonprofit organization Operation Ramp It Up, along with members of the Philadelphia Eagles, in a joint effort to provide a wheelchair ramp for a veteran in need.
When Operation Ramp It Up founder Greg Schneider reached out to the local Lifeway Philadelphia office, General Manager Paul and Regional Manager Jeff, along with Neil and Mayelin of the sales team, were eager to help out. Lifeway Mobility technicians Shane, Erik, and Drew led the group installation effort, and the project came together as a complete success.
“This is why we exist as a company,” said Paul. “Our mission is to help people stay in the home that they love and give them a safe, reliable solution for their family so they can access their home”.
Also on hand were Philadelphia Eagles players Cal Adomitis and Jordan Mailata, along with several Eagles cheerleaders. Adomitis, who had worked with Schneider in the past, was instrumental in making the project possible.
“It was a great aligning of worlds as there was a veteran in need out here,” said Adomitis. “Greg immediately got in touch with me and worked it out so we could get it done today - and thanks to Lifeway Mobility for coming out and helping us as well.”
Wheelchair Ramp Installed for Veteran
The US Army veteran, John I., who is receiving the ramp at his home, sustained a serious spinal injury that required months of inpatient care and rehab in a local hospital. His family realized that for him to come home, he would need a wheelchair ramp to safely access the main entrance. The combined effort to donate and install the ramp for John was a fitting project that coincided with Veterans’ Day this year as well.
The family expressed gratitude that the ramp will be ready for him when he is finally able to come home, the day before Thanksgiving, to be with his family over the holidays. “My heart is so full. I appreciate everyone here and all that they’ve done,” said John’s wife, Cathy.

This ramp marks number 337 for Operation Ramp It Up, which completes about 40 a year across the nation, according to Schneider.
Lifeway Mobility was proud to be a part of this effort that brought a community together to serve veterans like John, who have given so much to serve our country. Partnering with an organization like Operation Ramp It Up to improve access and mobility for a veteran in need is a core part of what we stand for as a company. It was an honor to work together with both organizations and the local community to bring a veteran home to enjoy the holidays with his family.
