A FAWSsit™ is a portable, fully assembled shower that provides a safe, quick and easy way to bathe. It is wheelchair accessible, easy to use and all that is needed is a faucet connection. The FAWSsit is a great alternative to a full bathroom remodel and is a great option for caregivers.
How Does it Work?
Portable Showers set the industry standard for ease of use. The units come completely assembled so no tools or construction are required. The only requirements for a safe, complete, satisfying shower are access to a sink and access to an electric outlet to run the attached pump. A kitchen, bedroom, or laundry are the most common places in the house to put a FAWSsit portable shower.
While primarily intended for use at home for people who cannot or choose not to do complete bathroom re-modeling, the FAWSsit™ portable showers are also the perfect travel shower and can even be used for hazardous materials decontamination or emergency services.
It is the ONLY portable shower which allows the client in a wheelchair the ability to stay safely seated in the wheelchair with no lifting or transferring required, and allows the client to simply roll in, shower, and roll back out without having to wait for frame set-up or waste water draining.

FAWSsit-S2000 Standard
The standard FAWSsit S-2000 portable shower model is designed for any individual who can sit comfortably in a standard sized wheelchair. It has a 220 lb. capacity and allows for the user to do their own bathing or have have the assistance of a care attendant. A full enclosure curtain provides a privacy for the individual using the shower and easy access for the person that may be helping out.

Slightly larger than S2000, the SS4040 super standard model is for use by individuals weighing up to approximately 300 lbs, or who may require the use of footrests on the wheelchair. Simple Set-Up
All FAWSsit™ models are completely wheelchair accessible and portable, requiring NO tools or modifications to a site for use. Please follow the steps below to set up your FAWSsite shower system
- Set the unit anywhere within 10 ft. reach of a standard sink, and unfold the sides. If greater distance is required, please let us know as we can get a custom unit with longer hoses for both the shower head and drain hose.
- Drop the attached vinyl drain pan to the floor and secure the sides with simple Velcro straps. Leave the front open to allow for easy roll in of the wheelchair.
- Back the person in the wheelchair into the shower stall, then drop the hinged front support bar down to form the fourth support for the drain pan, and attach the pan with the Velcro strips.
- Close the shower curtain in front for privacy, or leave it off to the side for easier caregiver access, as determined by the individual client’s needs and capabilities.
- Attach the shower head faucet cup to the sink faucet, and plug the frame-mounted pump into a grounded, 3-prong outlet.
- Place the waste water drain hose in the sink and secure it with the suction cup.
- Set the water temperature at the sink and turn on the pump to remove the waste water while showering.
Go ahead and shower away!!
Clean Up
- When the shower is completed, simply turn off the faucet, detach the front Velcro strips of the drain pan, lift the bar, and roll out!
- If a small amount of water remains in the pan, you may leave the pump running, but the pan is designed to prevent waste water from exiting the pan when the wheelchair is rolled out. No need to wait for it to drain to exit.
- After the client’s needs for getting dried off are addressed, simply turn off the pump, take a light wash rag to wipe any water drops from the curtain and pan, then reverse the process to fold the unit away for storage.
Additional Information About the FAWSsit Portable Showers
The frames are made of unbreakable anodized aluminum, designed for long-term use. Only the FAWSsit™ Portable Showers can withstand multiple years of repeat use with no degradation in frame structure or function. All FAWSsit™ frames come with a full 10 year warranty against defects.
With any of the FAWSsit™ models, the person to be bathed can be rolled into the shower stall in either a shower/commode style of wheelchair, or even just a regular wheelchair. Once inside the shower stall, a front support bar is lowered so that the fourth side of the shower pan can be attached for waste water collection. A front shower curtain may be brought around for the person who is able to do their own bathing, or may be left open for easier caregiver access to assist with the bathing.
A shower head with approximately 12 feet of hose and a universal adapter to allow for connection to the sink faucet is provided with every shower unit. And, there is a pump which pulls the waste water from the drain pan. There is a 12 foot hose attached to the pump unit which then returns the waste water to the sink drain for disposal. A GFI plug protects the pump unit in case of any electrical failure. To assure safety, theFAWSsit™ shower has been tested by Underwriter Laboratories (UL) and it complies with all of their requirements for safety.
